UK Diaspora and Humanity Wins Foundation support for Flood-Affected Communities in Guyana

The Guyana UK Social Development Association (GUSDA), in collaboration with Humanity Wins Foundation and UK Radio Presenter/Promoter & DJ Mr. Marlon, has successfully launched a flood relief initiative to support communities in Guyana impacted by the devastating May/June 2021 floods.

Generous contributions were collected through a 'Zoomathon' fundraising event, where donors from the UK and Canada pledged support. The funds raised were used to provide essential hampers containing cleaning and food supplies, targeting Regions 5 and 10, and Region 4. A total of 110 hampers were distributed, with additional support given to the Hauraruni Children’s Home.

Recipients expressed immense gratitude for the assistance provided. The Humanity Wins Foundation, GUSDA, and Mr. Marlon extend heartfelt thanks to all donors, acknowledging the ongoing need for further support as requests for help continue to surpass available resources [2021].
